In the Functional Testing arena, evaluation of the creatinine level will usually show high long before the PSA is detected as a problem. Be sure and test for renal insufficiency and urinary tract congestion in these patients with prostate complaints. Nutri-West CORE LEVEL KIDNEY and TOTAL MULTIMUNE are possible nutritionals to support proper function.

Prostate cancer is # 2 for death of the men in the U.S. The prostate cells are highly prone to mutation. Current research has shown 34% of men, ages forty to forty-nine, show evidence of prostate cancer on histological evaluation. Inflammation plays a role in all chronic degenerative disease and inflammation certainly plays a role in prostate conditions. C - reactive protein should be evaluated on a blood exam. TOTAL INFLAM should be a contender for nutritional support.

Insulin, sugar regulation and Metabolic Syndrome must be evaluated. A low glycemic diet should be recommended along with VANA-CHROM, CORE LEVEL PANCREAS and TOTAL ALPHA LIPOIC ACID.

A full medical workup and treatment must be recommended in this type of patient. To help facilitate wellness in conjunction with more aggressive treatment, one must consider CORE LEVEL PROSTATE, TOTAL VIRX OR TOTAL YEAST REDUX, HOMOCYSTEINE REDUX (as B6, B12, folic acid and methyl donors, such as DMG/TMG are usually very low), VITAMIN D, TOTAL GREEN, TOTAL VEGGIE and TOTAL PROTECT.

The new heavy metal testing we are teaching is also very important, along with the appropriate Homeopathic metal and TOTAL CHELATE to help reduce the toxic burden.

It is important that we do appropriate testing, treating and monitoring of our patients for optimal health and wellness. Appropriate referrals are also an important part of patient care.
